The first time I died,
I was five years old.
My father, tired of my crying,
threw me against my bedroom wall.
I felt my breath leave my lungs as I fell to the floor.
I feared death then,
It's icy grip, around my throat.
Choking me, stopping the air.
My head pounding, begging for blood, begging for life.
My mother killed me next,
It was a car accident.
Not her fault, but the result was the same.
Flying thru the cabin, and into the glass.
Time stood still, and then I was gone.
When I was in High School, things took a turn for the worse.
I died on a dare, Drowning that time.
An auto accident, my friend driving drunk.
A jealous boyfriend. I c
Here I stand where others crawl
Back up straight, stiff and tall
Though by the cannons I may seem small
And though they threaten
I will march until I fall
Like Achilles, brave and bold
And all the heroes of old
I know that soon I may be cold
But for those back home I will stand
And fight for those more precious than gold
Not with hate, but with love
I face the enemy to push and shove
Fighting forward to find the dove
And peace for others as I fall
My blood drains out, my skin a glove
And if by dying I could save
A dozen lives, a hundred tears
I will go without fear
For in that moment while I die
I would live a thousand years
The sun comes up
and the moon goes down,
Something's lost
and something's found.
The happy smile
the sad will frown,
A man stays free
while his brother is bound.
Some stay hidden and some come out
There are those who believe,
There are those who doubt.
The coward stays silent when his brothers shout.
Some will rise when their brother falls
Because
The Silent
We are the hurt
The broken
The ignored
and the silent
We are the few who observe
From the corner where we sit
Forgotten by the people
Who’s lives throw them
Into social beings
We remain silent
Hoping one day in selfishness
That someone will break their trance
And speak to the silent who refuse
But observe
We hope one day
Someone will long to tear
Down our walls
That have kept us silent
But we will not let our walls
Be destroyed
For these walls are our treasure
And keep us safe to whom may hurt us
But we will keep it down
For who we care
But don’t be mistaken
For our walls are not to oppress
But to protect
To keep u
Graduation Day:
They told us we would be alright...
We had fought with honour and won our titles.
We had overcome trials together -
Watching dozens of our siblings fall in the line of duty.
For this they had promised us, a wondrous welcome;
A bountiful world of adventure, with a myriad of paths.
All this, they said, awaited us in the stone cities.
Large metropolises, where the working folk resided...
There were hundreds of us, who made that journey.
Walking miles across the scorching desert,
Clinging to a hope of the fortunes beyond.
Yet what awaited us was not a promised land -
Nor was it a life based on the merit we had earned.

Definition of a Writer
writ•er
noun /rītər/
A writer is a person
Who sees the world differently
From a high perspective of understanding
To an easily balanced imagery
They stand at the edge of the cliff
And run that extra mile
To gain what a normal person cannot see
And to obtain the hope that they wish to cherish
A writer is a person
Who buries their ego and places boulders upon it
They learn the rules, follow the rules, and will break the rules
And make writing their own
They lay upon the dusty old ground of a graveyard
And do an annual ritual to free the inspiration that has been pinned down
They want to show their abnormality to everyone
